I went on a ski trip last week. It was fun, but it rained on Sunday. Today many of the students are skiing. So we had English class with the younger students!
One of the most important things in English is phonics. Phonics is the pronunciation of words and letters. As you know, in English and Japanese some letters sound different. In Japanese the letter "I" sounds like "ee," but in English it is usually a short "i" like in pig or a long I like in the word "hide". This can be very confusing for older students, but young students are very good at learning the differences! Many junior high school teachers want students to learn more phonics in elementary school. So we did that today.
We also student animal sounds. Do you know any animal sounds in English? I think animal sounds are fun, and the students are always interested to hear how the sounds are different in English. Teaching these sounds is usually a very fun lesson.
Well it's lunch time now so I have to go. After lunch I have a few lessons at the junior high school too. I hope you enjoy your weekend! Bye!
