Birthdays in America!

Hello everyone! How are you?

Today I want to talk about birthdays. Birthdays are celebrated in many countries in the world. Many places have special traditions. For example, in some countries people break a piñata at a birthday party.

The United States shares many traditions with other countries. It is very common for children to have birthday parties. At birthday parties, friends and family may be invited to celebrate. The guests usually bring a present for the birthday boy or girl. Some birthday parties have clowns, although some children are afraid of clowns.

One of the most common traditions is a birthday cake. The birthday cake may have many candles. It often has one candle for each year of the birthday person's life - so a seven-year-old boy may have a cake with seven candles. Before eating the cake, the birthday person tries to blow out all of the candles. But before the blow out the candles, they should make a wish (and they can't tell anyone what their wish is!). If they successfully blow out all the candles, their wish will come true!

Of course, adults celebrate birthdays too! The birthday tradition is very strong in the United States, and everyone knows the ''Birthday Song.'' When is your birthday? How do you celebrate it? Do you do something different?

Thanks for reading! See you again soon!
