振り休で富士急

二週間ぶりに日記を書きます！ローゼンクロイツです！皆さんはお元気ですか？

私は月曜日に振り替え休日で富士急ハイランドに行って来ました。凄く楽しかったです！「ええじゃないか」も「ふじやま」も「ドドンパ」に乗りましたよ！「ふじやま」は１９９６年に建てられて、その時には世界で一番高いジェットコースターでしたが、今はそうではないです。でも、まだ世界最大規模のジェットコースターとしてその「ふじやま」は７番目だそうです。ところで、そのホラーハウスも凄くよかったです。怖かったと聞かれたら、実は笑っていました。そんな怪奇幻想の世界が好きですからね。ちょっと変わったなぁ…

遊園地なら、私はアメリカで何回も行った事があります。私の故郷の辺りかなり有名な「Hershey Park」というアミューズメントパークがあって、子どもの時から毎年行ってます。「Hershey’s Chocolate」ってご存知ですか？最近日本でも買えることになりましたので、今度スーパーに行く時に是非ご覧ください。とにかく、その「Hershey」はただの会社の名前だけではなく、あるペンシルバニアの町の創立者といえる人の名前です。Milton Snavely Hershey（１８５７年−１９４０年）は事業家として１９０４年にHershey Chocolate社を設立して、その会社は世界的規模でチョコレートを大衆化しました。しかも、ビジネスの成功は別として、Milton Hersheyは慈善家として、孤児のためにMilton Hershey Schoolという無料学校を１９０９年に開設しました。私の故郷の直ぐ近くにあって、そのHersheyという町の道を通るとチョコレート工場から漂ってくる香りは凄くいいです。もちろん、冒頭のHershey Parkに行ったらチョコレートがたくさん食べることも出来ます！でも、目いっぱい食べてから直ぐジェットコースターに乗るのは注意してくださいね！

After two weeks I’m writing a post! This is Rosenkreuz! Is everyone doing well?

On Monday I went to Fuji-Q Highland on my substitute day off. It was really fun! I rode the “Eejanaika,” the “Fujiyama,” and “Dodonpa.”! When it was built in 1996, “Fujiyama” was the tallest rollercoaster in the world, but now that isn’t the case. Even so, it’s still one of the world’s largest at number 7. By the way, the horror house was also really good! If you ask whether I was scared, I have to say that I was laughing the whole time. That’s because I like that kind of grotesque illusionary world. I guess I’m a little bit wierd . . .

As for amusement parks, I’ve gone many times. Near my hometown there is a quite famous amusement park called “Hershey Park,” which I’ve been going to every year since I was a child. Do you know about Hershey’s Chocolate? Recently it’s become available to buy even in Japan, so the next time you go to the supermarket please take a look! Anyway, “Hershey” is not just the name of a company; it’s also the name of a man who could be called the founder of a certain town in Pennsylvania. In 1904, an entrepreneur named Milton Snavely Hershey (1857-1945) established the Hershey Chocolate Company, which went on to popularize chocolate throughout the world. Moreover, aside from business successes, as a philanthropist he also opened the tuition-free Milton Hershey School for orphans in 1909. The town known as Hershey is very close to my home, and when you pass through the streets the scent that comes wafting through the air from the chocolate factory is very nice. Of course, if you go to the Hershey Park that I mentioned above, you can eat lots of chocolate! However, I don’t recommend riding the rollercoasters right after eating your fill of chocolate!
